With ambitious plans to continuously evolve their digital presence and tech stack, an exciting position for a Lead Fullstack cloud Engineer is now available to be a part of the journey.
This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building scalable, cloud-native applications in TypeScript on their platform build on AWS. You’ll work collaboratively with wider business teams to shape the architecture, develop platform capabilities, and ensure the systems are robust, secure, and scalable. With a real seat at the table you will be able to bring ideas and realise them in this business.
This role is best suited to a proactive individual that thrives in a collaborative and fast paced environment. This role offers the opportunity to set engineering direction, lead cross-functional collaboration, and influence the future of a composable commerce platform.
This is a remote role, but you must be able to get to London when required.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable, event-driven cloud services using AWS and TypeScript
- Support development teams in adopting serverless-first patterns and modern cloud-native practices
- Collaborate closely with DevOps, Frontend, and Backend teams to align on architecture, service design, and developer workflows. As well as Business and Product Analysts to align to business goals
- Lead architectural discussions and guide design decisions across teams and services
- Define and evolve platform-wide standards for security, observability, testing, and reliability
- Mentor engineers and contribute to a strong engineering culture focused on quality, scalability, and learning
Skills/Experience:
- Deep understanding of AWS services, especially serverless and event-driven components (e.g. Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, DynamoDB)
- Strong experience building distributed systems and cloud-native applications in TypeScript
- Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, ideally with Terraform
- Exposure to MACH principles and composable commerce ecosystems
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions or GitLab CI
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving
- Understanding of order management, ERP and/or back office solutions for multi-channel retail
- Understanding of secure-by-design principles and cloud security best practices
