The Director of Technology is responsible for the success of the Company’s software and technical end-to-end solutions.The Director of Technology leads a structure of engineering teams made up of employed, contingent and third-party Technical Leads, Shopify Engineers, Integration Engineers, Quality Analysts and Developers and manages our third-party technical service provider relationships.
The role is broad covering 3 key areas
Responsibilities:
- Technology & Engineering:
- Defining technical vision and long term strategy
- Owning the SDLC & end to end solutions
- Senior Leadership Team:
- Contributing to key decision
- Contributing to pitches in respect of validating workforce planning and technical thinking
- Team Leadership:
- Energise and inspire the team
- Manage d2d line management and monthly 1:1s
- Encourage innovation within the teams.
Skills/Experience:
- Longstanding experience in an engineering leadership position within a complex eCommerce retail environment
- Experience setting the strategic vision and taking strategic, commercial decisions
- Experience managing third party supplier relationships
- Experience leading globally dispersed teams
